perception vs reality

I wanted to get some last photos of Sutton in his beloved fedora tonight. He used to wear it all the time and today was the first time he put it on himself in awhile and it barely fits on his head anymore. So outside we go in the pretty golden evening light.

Perception. Awe look at how happy he is. What fun to take photos of your son, you’re lucky.
Reality. “Sutton stand right there please. no stop that. stand up. do NOT poke my reflector with that stick, that’s not nice. Bauer STOP IT. Sutton look at Mama’s camera. Stand UP. Put the stick down. Stop. Look at Mama’s camera pleeeease. Can you please smile for Mama? BAUER KNOCK IT OFF…” I could go on.

You may order prints or products at my regular pricing. this is for children only 6 months – 16 years. rain date is scheduled for June 9th. angels of hope

Thanks to an awesome client of mine (shout out to Sherri) I donated a session to the Angels of Hope. It’s a wonderful organization that provides assistance to families with children who have Cancer. Cut to this awesome, fun and generous family who purchased the session during the silent auction! And, of course, I’m so glad they did! I had a great time photographing and chatting with them.

Between Mother Nature and schedules, we had to reschedule this session twice. I know Mom is dying to finally see some photos of her beautiful family so let’s get right to it!

Big brother Jake is so handsome and squeezable!

And younger brother James was so good for a long photo session for a little guy! It’s not easy to be a model!

ireland

Chris and I have a system of saving up our frequent flier miles and once we have enough for us to fly to Europe, we go! This was our third trip and we decided to visit Ireland. With the exception of the weather being a little colder and wetter then we hoped, we had a great time and covered lots of ground. Maybe a little too much ground with the driving on the other side of the road and fast speed limits through windy country roads with no shoulders! But we survived and now Chris thinks he’s a race car driver. We saw castles, historic forts, a national park, a prison, the cliffs of Mohr, little towns, lots and lots of cows and sheep and maybe even the inside of a pub or two. The two things that I experienced to be true of the Irish people are that they are very nice and they do drink lots of Guinness! I’m not sure if the two are related or not!

I’m baaaack! Lots of photos to share once I have a second to go through them but that’s for another blog post. Mother’s Day is around the corner and I wanted to do a little something for those Mom’s out there who would like to book a session. out of the office & welcome baby alair

The little man is off to grandma’s, Bauer is holding down the homestead with his “puppysitters” (my brother and his awesome girlfriend) and the hubby and I are off for a much needed week vacation! I hope to return rested with lots of photos to share! I will, of course, return all emails asap after we return.

Now onto a sweet newborn boy I managed to photograph before we leave! I’ve been bugging mom and dad to procreate for years now and I’m so glad they finally did! They are going to be such great and loving parents. Alair is just the cutest!

Congratulations to the new family of three!

I’ve said it before on his blog but I love horses! So a session with two beautiful girls at a horse farm! Bliss!

Big sister, Elizabeth, is the horse rider in the family. Somebody is photo bombing Elizabeth’s photo!

And Anna is such a character she had smiling the whole time. She’s more of a dancer and performer then horse rider.
