purple tree photography

by kelli taylor

I wanted to get some last photos of Sutton in his beloved fedora tonight. He used to wear it all the time and today was the first time he put it on himself in awhile and it barely fits on his head anymore. So outside we go in the pretty golden evening light.

Perception. Awe look at how happy he is. What fun to take photos of your son, you’re lucky.
Reality. “Sutton stand right there please. no stop that. stand up. do NOT poke my reflector with that stick, that’s not nice. Bauer STOP IT. Sutton look at Mama’s camera. Stand UP. Put the stick down. Stop. Look at Mama’s camera pleeeease. Can you please smile for Mama? BAUER KNOCK IT OFF…” I could go on.

ireland

05.04.12

Chris and I have a system of saving up our frequent flier miles and once we have enough for us to fly to Europe, we go! This was our third trip and we decided to visit Ireland. With the exception of the weather being a little colder and wetter then we hoped, we had a great time and covered lots of ground. Maybe a little too much ground with the driving on the other side of the road and fast speed limits through windy country roads with no shoulders! But we survived and now Chris thinks he’s a race car driver. We saw castles, historic forts, a national park, a prison, the cliffs of Mohr, little towns, lots and lots of cows and sheep and maybe even the inside of a pub or two. The two things that I experienced to be true of the Irish people are that they are very nice and they do drink lots of Guinness! I’m not sure if the two are related or not! ;)

Here are some photos I took:

He is one adorable pup…..and I think he’d better get used to the camera in his face! :)

  2. I am a volunteer at Lake Haven and helped to take care of all of the Saint pups plus I list them on Petfinder – he is just adorable and so happy he has a new home.

I fostered his brother, Scott, too!

  3. Terri

OMG – you just get better & better. These are gorgeous photos! An “easy” subject , but I think you ‘ve captured his personality and I’ve never met the guy. Yet…

drum roll…

04.18.12

Meet…drum roll please…Bauer! If you’re into hockey you get the name.

A little more about Bauer. He’s traveled a long way already to be in our family. He was born in Georgia to two stray parents who were taken in. The rescue didn’t have enough room for him and his 6 litter mates so they traveled north to Newaygo Michigan. I found him on Petfinder.com and after Chris drove across the state to get him, he’s a part of the Taylor family! He’s about 11 weeks old, very sweet and likes to cuddle. We’re not sure what breed mix he is but thinking there’s some Saint Bernard and/or Great Pyrenees in there.
Yes, just Bauer. We made a very difficult and heartbreaking decision to return the girl puppy. It was the right decision for us and for her. She wasn’t bonding with our family like we had hoped but is quite the charmer and doing very well back at the rescue where they are finding the perfect home for her.

And the other little man in my life that I have to potty train.
