I don't work alone and it's time I recognize my little helpers, my equipment! :) I shoot with a Canon 5D Mark II which isn't pictured because I was shooting the photos below with it! :) It's an SLR digital camera that I LOVE. I anxiously awaited it's release and received it a little over a year ago. It was a huge upgrade for me and has served me VERY well! On to the lens'. For those of you who have SLR camera's, you know just how addictive getting lens' can be! My husband has said more then once "aren't you done buying equipment now?" silly boy, I'll never be DONE! :) But I am happy with the line up I have right now.

First up, the Canon 24-70mm 2.8. This lens was my first fancy L-series lens and it has served me very well! I have used it tons. This is the only lens that I have that is not a prime, meaning it zooms in and out. So I used it when I think my subject is going to be moving a LOT. Like for dogs!

Second, the Canon 24mm 1.4. This little guy serves me very well inside! It is nice an wiiiiide for tight spots and good in low light! I don't use him all the time but he's always there for me when I need him!

And last but not least, my go to lens, the Canon 50mm 1.2. This is the lens I shoot with most of the time. Our relationship is fairly new but I couldn't be happier I made the upgrade!

After seeing some pretty funny quotes that my friends post from their kids on facebook, I was thinking how I want to write those down when the baby comes and well...can talk...and says something funny. So imagine my delight when shopping at one of my favorite stores, paper-source, while in Chicago last week to come across this journal!

I realize that making resolutions is played, but I do think it's a good time to reflect and make new goals. So that's what these are, goals, both personal and professional.

1. Watch less TV (this was my goal for 2009, which I accomplished, but I'd like to keep it up. Note to "the Office" and "Dexter" I will never give you up!).
2. Birth a child (yeah ok...this is a gimme).
3. Spend more time with each client customizing their sessions to their taste/want.
4. Meet and socialize with those that inspire me.
5. Take photos for ME not just my clients.
6. Make it through 2010 (with a new baby on a the way, a growing business, a husband who spend lots of time at work and everything else life brings I think this is a good goal!).

Dear 2009,

You were a wild ride both personally and professionally! I started you out with a full time advertising job (although not for long), a part time photography business (with huge goals) and a reasonably flat tummy with the only "children" in sight having fur. A lot has changed. I want to give a very heart felt THANK YOU to all of my clients for the year! 2009 was more then I could ask for and I'm very much looking forward to what 2010 has in store!
