outtake tuesday
bella
It is with deep deep sadness that I say that our sassy little Bernese mountain dog, Bella (aka bellachino, cheen, stinky monkey, little bean, etc etc. she had a LOT of nick names) left us last week, one month before her 10th birthday, to be with her brother Oscar in doggie heaven. Back in 2002, Chris and I each got an 8 week old, fluffy, crazy cute, trouble making, puppy. Bella was his. She was his little girl. And although she was a bit bossy and high maintenance she was the perfect fit for him and for us. She was more then a dog, she was a family member and there is a 85lb hole in our hearts and in our family now. We thank her for all the wonderful memories, the things she taught us and for being the best dog in the world to Sutton.
Chris sent me this quote when my baby boy, Oscar, died: “Don’t cry because it’s over. Smile because it happened.” – Dr. Seuss
We will try, Bella, but it will be hard.
This is just the tip of the ice burg of the photos I have of our baby girl. (Some of these photos are scans)

This is how I imagine Bella and Oscar spent their first night in heaven together.

This is one of the last photos I have of Bella from a couple weeks ago when I was testing some light.

We miss and love you Bella.
peace & pictures,
kelli

Bella was an absolutely beautiful dog with a unique personality all of her own. I really enjoyed it when she spent time at our house. Oscar & Bella were so lucky to spend their lives together as brother & sister and ever so fortunate to be members of your family!! She will be with us forever in our hearts.Love you Bella.

Kelli- this is such a beautiful post; it brought tears to my eyes. I didn’t know Bella well, but the few times I did get to visit with her through the fence (when Chester would let me) she was such a sweetheart. My thoughts and prayers are with you, Chris, and Sutton during this difficult time.
P.S. And if you feel the need to have some crazy in your life, you can borrow Chester! LOL
-
Kelli – a very special tribute to two very “lucky dogs.” I’m sorry they had to leave you, but so glad you have such beautiful pictures and memories. xoxo

Happy second birthday to my own little man!
Your Dad and I love you more then I know how to express.

For Sutton’s 2nd birthday pictures I decided to play a bit and do something outside of my normal style. He was into airplanes when I got the idea and started this project (now trains have taken over first place) which gave me the idea of paper airplanes. I do have a new appreciation for photographers who plan and make things for their shoots. Not as easy as you think!
peace & pictures,
kelli
